Rolls Royce cars are manufactured by the British car maker Rolls Royce Ltd. The Rolls Royce company was founded in 1906 by Henry Rolls and CS Royce, and the first Rolls Royce that was released was the Silver Ghost. 1n 1931, Rolls Royce acquired the Bentley brand.
In 1951 the Rolls Royce company started producing diesel engines. After financial problems, Rolls Royce was nationalised in 1971. In 1973, the car-making part of the business separated from the overall Rolls Royce company. They then called the company Rolls Royce Motors. One of the most popular Rolls Royce models is the Rolls Royce Phantom which is still being produced today.
