Ssangyong cars are manufactured by the South Korean firm the SsangYong Motor Company. The company was set up in 1954 and is the fourth biggest car manufacturer in South Korea. The company's original name was Hadonghwan Motor Company and in 1977 changed to Dong-A Motor. The SsangYong Business Group took over the company in 1988 and was renamed the SsangYong Motor Company.
